Słynny, chiński reżyser, Jia Zhangke (賈樟柯), nominowany został do Złotej Palmy na festiwalu filmowym w Cannes. Nagroda przyznana została za jego najnowsze dzieło reżyserskie: „Porwani przez fale” (en. „Caught by the Tides”; cn. „风流一代”). Film opowiada historię chińskiej bohaterki (w główną role wciela się Zhao Tao), która w ciągu 22 lat w głęboko poruszającym i nostalgicznym milczeniu doświadcza zgiełku życia codziennego i dokonujących się wokół niej przemian.

Film kręcony był w latach 2001-2023. Kolejnym wartym uwagi szczegółem jest to, że aktorka wcielająca się w główną bohaterkę (Zhao Tao [赵涛]) to w życiu prywatnym żona reżysera.
Prawa do dystrybucji filmu poza granicami Chin nabyło francuskie studio MK2 Films. Projektem zająć się japoński reżyser Shozo Ichiyama (市山尚三) i aktorka w roli reżyserki, Liang Jiayan (梁嘉艳).

The famous Chinese director, Jia Zhangke (賈樟柯), was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The award was granted for his latest directorial work: "Caught by the Tides" (cn. "风流一代"). The film tells the story of a Chinese woman (Zhao Tao plays the main role) who, over the course of 22 years, experiences the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the changes taking place around her in a deeply moving and nostalgic silence.
Other nominated authors
Jia's work competed in its category with strong rivals, such as "Kinds of Kindness" by Yorgos Lanthimos, "Oh, Canada" by Paul Schrader or "Emilia Perez" directed by Jacques Audiard.
Jia Zhangke
Jia Zhangke's career spans nearly thirty years, during which the artist has already received six similar nominations. Jia's previous achievements include an award in the "Best Screenplay" category for the film titled "A Touch of Sin" (en. "天注定") from 2013. The current work is distinguished by the fact that the 22 years included in the plot have also passed in reality. The film was shot between 2001 and 2023. Another noteworthy detail is that the actress playing the main character (Zhao Tao [赵涛]) in private life is the director's wife.
Distribution
The rights to distribute the film outside China were acquired by the French studio MK2 Films. The project will be handled by Japanese director Shozo Ichiyama (市山尚三) and actress-director Liang Jiayan (梁嘉艳).
